I should probably start off by stating that
this product is focused on generating ideas for information
products. For a brief description of what Information products
are click
here.
First impressions after downloading this eBook
are promising. It comes in PDF format, PDF's always provide
a certain quality not seen in some other eBook formats.
Starting up the eBook and quickly scrolling
down to the table of contents reveals 40+ individually numbered
ideas. Glancing over them briefly it soon becomes apparent
that this is not some shody cobbled together list of ideas.
In fact just from the table of contents I realized that these
ideas must of been researched properly because I
found many of them eye opening and was compelled to scroll
down to the relevant section. The only thing that stopped
me was another of the ideas listed that was just as good if
not better.
So quickly scanning through the contents a number
of the ideas that standout include - 'Simple technique to
create hot selling information products without writing a
word', 'How to profit from your Experience', 'The technique
all experts use but don't tell anyone', 'You can create your
first information product on this topic immediately', 'How
to become an expert overnight in your subject area', '7 simple
steps to discovering gaps in your market' and so on. All very
enticing titles.
The introduction 'Can you sell what
you know?' begins with a number of varied examples
of people who have used their knowledge to create and sell
a profitable information product.
From the magician writing about the ins and
outs of performing magic tricks. To the women who became a
DIY expert due to her following her husband around the house
and correcting his DIY mistakes. Her eBook was focused on
people that thought they weren't fit to wield a hammer. This
serves as a good example of the variety of knowledge that
is saleable.
The message is clear, You to can do
it, You don't need to be a writer, Ordinary people
like you are doing it already and I was one of those ordinary
people, is the general jist. It serves well to set the foundation
of what is to come in the main body of the book. It was after
reading the introduction that I decided that I would benefit
more from the info to follow if I printed the whole thing
out and took the time to sit down away from the computer read
properly.
The Content
Now, on to the actual ideas. Obviously I can't cover them
all but I'll cover one of them and review its worth and then
give an overview of the rest of the eBook.
I thought I'd start with the one that jumps
out at me the most when viewing the table of contents, the
one that would appeal most to the non-writer to maybe, 'Simple
technique to create hot selling information products without
writing a word'
This sounds to good to be true, but as with
many of the other ideas on offer here it's simple, but begs
the question, 'why didn't I think of that?'.
So what is it ? I think the opening sentence sums it up best.
'Combine information from key individuals who have demonstrated
great achievement and success in a given target market......'
Essentially this idea focuses on gathering information
on knowledgeable individuals within your subject area, utilising
passive methods to research and create individual profiles
and adding true value by approaching them, by a variety of
means, to secure interviews. Either via email, telephone or
even survey.
As with all the ideas presented here, there
is work involved in producing a finished saleable product,
but with this idea you're more of a fact gatherer and documenter
than a creative writer.
This particular chapter goes on to describe
a number of products that have been produced in this way.
'The Millionaire Mind.. focusing on millionaires
and their mindset, unsuprisingly. 'Best business stories
of the year 2002... a collection of high quality
business articles and more.
This idea chapter, as with all the others presented
here, is completed with a list and a brief description of
potential information products based around the ideas discussed.
This works very well in sparking ideas of your own.
This basic format runs through the other chapters
and it works well. Sitting comfortably reading through my
printed copy of this eBook I found I was overwhelmed with
ideas both as they were presented within the eBook and as
my mind jumped back and forth between different ideas. I literally
devoured this book.
A good idea to tie in with the others here would
be to keep a notebook handy to jot down your own inspiration
as you read. As the book concludes with the suggestion that
you should consider the ideas here as not stand alone but
very much mix and match.
Conclusion
Overall this is a high quality product, well written
and presented. There is a wealth of information and insipartion
contained within its pages and you would be hard pressed not
to be able to utilise it to come up with your own high quality
info product.
Since the package now has added value with a number of other
quality eBooks included. You now effectively have a well rounded
package tailored to cover all the angles you could expect
to confront in writing your own info product.
