Al Gore invented the Internet?

I met an interesting guy the other day at a coffee shop. We got to talking about Internet content, SPAM, E-commerce, websites and actually had some others join in our lively conversation. What was interesting that is every one there knew the joke about Al Gore inventing the Internet, but only one of us, me, knew who really designed the deal. Shouldnt anyone who plays or makes a living on the Internet at least know who REALLY invented it? Well, let me recommend a really good book to you:

Weaving The Web-The Original Design and ultimate Destiny of The World Wide Web By Its Inventor By Tim Berners-Lee.

This is recommended for anyone who ever wondered how the Internet came to be. Everyone who uses the Internet ought to read this book. If you are involved in E-commerce, online content, Ezines, you should know; how it works, who runs it, why it was invented. Some of this you will already know, but most of it is totally intriguing. It is a wonder anything can ever get invented in this world with all the nay sayers. And then again maybe, just maybe it is the nay sayers who propel the innovators to prove them wrong over and over again. Tim and his idea and the World Wide Web Consortium are discussed. As well as future thoughts and hypotheticals of where it will go from human mind interaction and chemical organic computers of the future using conductivity systems not yet devised. The ending of the book sounds a bit like Arthur C Clark, but discusses it in real scientific terms of the future. You should buy and read this book. So should all those insane politicians who think they should tax the Internet and your e-mails. Read it and think on it; wont you?
