How long has the Internet been
mass market ?
I would say the crossover was around 98/99.
That's really when you began to see companies advertise their
url at the bottom of their print ads in mass market magazines,
and TV ads finished with a url, radio ads tagged it on the
end too.
Soon after this everyone and his dog thought the Internet
was a cash cow and all you had to do was build a website and
millions of people would flock to you and buy your products,
hmm, more than a few financial investors had their fingers
burned because of that.
The boom of 2000 was quickly followed by the doom of 2001

guys sobered up pretty quickly and moved on to pastures new
and the next scheme.

in the search engines and directories and see how many other
sites point to them. Register your interest and have the domain
name bought the second it is detagged and available for purchase
again.
